Costco Chocovia Dubai Style Chocolate Variety Pack Review

I previously reviewed the Chocovia Dubai Style Chocolates from Costco and thought they were pretty spectacular, so I couldn’t resist picking up the Chocovia Dubai Style Chocolate Variety Pack. This box includes the pistachio Dubai-style chocolate, along with hazelnut and strawberry versions. Is this variety pack worth trying, or should shoppers stick with the original Dubai Style Chocolates from Chocovia? Read on to find out!

Location in Store

These chocolates are located in the Christmas/seasonal aisle at Costco near the J. Charles Chocolatier Sea Salt Caramel Mallows and the Desobry Belgian Chocolate Biscuit Selection. The item number is 1957835.

Taste

There are three different flavors of chocolates in the box: hazelnut, pistachio, and strawberry. I tried all three kinds and wrote down what I thought of each one!

I was surprised that the strawberry chocolate was such a bright pink color, because on the box it looks like a brown chocolate with a pink filling. The strawberry chocolate is very creamy and sweet, with a strong artificial strawberry flavor. This was my least favorite chocolate in the container. Although I found the strawberry flavor artificial tasting, my mom said it was “very good and didn’t taste fake.”

The hazelnut chocolate is really pleasant. It has a lovely hazelnut praline filling with crispy bits in it, and it tastes very similar to a Ferrero Rocher. It melts in your mouth, and the milk chocolate is really smooth. This chocolate is also quite sweet.

The pistachio chocolate is the same as the one you find in the Dubai Style Chocolates bag at Costco, which is also produced by Chocovia. It has a pistachio cream center with crispy kadaif. It’s quite sweet, creamy, melts in your mouth, and has a noticeable pistachio flavor.

Cost

There are about 26 individually wrapped chocolates in the 400-gram box, and the box costs $18.99 Canadian. It’s somewhat expensive, but the quality of the chocolates seems pretty good.

Convenience

Each chocolate is individually wrapped, and you can tell which kind it is by the color of the wrapper. The best-before date is just under two years from when I purchased them, and they should be stored in a cool, dry place.

These would make a nice gift, and they’d also be perfect to bring to the office to share with coworkers around the holidays. The chocolates are a product of Turkey but are distributed by a U.S. company.

Calories

Three chocolates contain 260 calories, 16 grams of fat, 23 grams of carbohydrates, two grams of fibre, 21 grams of sugar, four grams of protein, and 40 milligrams of sodium. I personally feel satisfied with just one chocolate and can’t see myself eating three. One chocolate is about 87 calories and five grams of fat.

Ingredients

I don’t expect to see especially healthy ingredients in products like chocolates. I do like that these chocolates contain real hazelnuts, pistachios, and freeze-dried strawberries. However, I’m not a fan of the amount of palm oil or the artificial flavoring. The chocolates contain hazelnuts, milk, pistachios, and wheat, and may contain other tree nuts and peanuts.

Give it a try!

These chocolates are definitely on the sweet side, but the quality seems high. They’re smooth, creamy, and melt in your mouth.
