Costco Kirkland Signature Grass-Fed Beef Sticks Review

These Kirkland Signature Grass-Fed Beef Sticks are new at my Costco, so I picked up a bag to try. Each stick has just 110 calories, 0 grams of sugar, and 10 grams of protein. I don’t usually gravitate toward beef sticks or beef jerky, but after trying these, I was pleasantly surprised. Find out why in the review below!

Location in Store

I found these in the snack section at Costco near the Golden Island Korean Barbecue Jerky and the Unreal Dark Chocolate Coconut Minis. The item number is 1857160.

Taste

The first thing I noticed is that the texture of the beef sticks is pretty tough and chewy on the outside, while the inside is a lot softer. The flavor is pretty salty and tastes just like beef.

I like that there isn’t any spice or heat in these, because I find most beef sticks are too hot for me. There’s a bit of tang from the vinegar, and it’s definitely noticeable.

They’re a bit dry, but overall they’re quite tasty. I’m not usually a jerky or beef stick person, but I still enjoyed these.

Cost

There are 12 beef sticks (32 grams each) in the pack, and I paid $18.99 Canadian for the bag. That works out to just over $1.50 per beef stick, which doesn’t seem too expensive, but isn’t super cheap either.

Convenience

Each beef stick is individually packaged, and the best-before date is about a year from when I purchased them. These are easy to pack in your lunch, backpack, or purse, or to keep in your glovebox. They’re a perfect low-carb, easy snack. Even my toddler likes them, but they’re a bit high in sodium for kids.

I’m disappointed to see palm oil and canola oil in the ingredients, but I’m glad beef is listed first. They’re also gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free.
