Costco Love Me Sweet Drumstick Dessert Review

These Love Me Sweet Drumstick Desserts at Costco are truly eye-catching. They look exactly like fried chicken, yet they’re a frozen dessert! As soon as I saw them, I knew I had to pick up a box to try. The appearance of these frozen dessert drumsticks may be off-putting to some, but I was excited to try them and review them for anyone who was as curious about them as I was!

Location in Store

These dessert bars are located in the freezer section of Costco, near all the other frozen desserts like the Melona Frozen Dessert Bars and the Cheesecake Factory Classic Cheesecake Selection. The item number is 2027857.

Taste

The first thing I noticed as soon as I opened a pack was the really strong vanilla flavour. The vanilla flavour is just as strong as the smell. These are kind of like an ice cream cookie, except the vanilla frozen dessert isn’t very soft or creamy like ice cream.

They’re quite tasty, with a nice vanilla flavour, and the cookie is crunchy with a vanilla flavour as well. I like that the cookie shell isn’t too dry. It’s fairly plain but tasty, and different from any other frozen dessert I’ve had.

Cost

The box comes with eight drumstick desserts and costs $19.99 Canadian, which isn’t cheap. That’s $2.50 per drumstick. I think you’re definitely paying for the novelty of the product.

Convenience

Each drumstick is individually packaged, which makes them easy to share or hand out. They need to be kept frozen, and the best-before date is almost two years from when I purchased them. These are definitely a unique dessert to serve others!

Calories

One drumstick contains 270 calories, 15 grams of fat, 32 grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fibre, 18 grams of sugar, two grams of protein and 55 milligrams of sodium. The nutrition facts seem pretty typical for a frozen dessert like this.

Ingredients

The ingredients list is pretty disappointing, with a ton of unhealthy ingredients like soybean oil, flavours, carrageenan and additives/preservatives. The drumsticks contain milk, soy and wheat and may contain peanuts, tree nuts, eggs and sesame.
