I’ve walked past this Siwin Lemon Chicken at Costco more times than I can count, so I finally decided it was time to see if it’s actually worth buying! I’m a big fan of lemon chicken, but we usually order it from one of our local Chinese restaurants rather than making it at home. I was especially curious to see if this freezer-section version could satisfy my lemon chicken cravingand whether my four-year-old daughter would enjoy it too! After all, kids seem to love anything resembling popcorn chicken. So, did this Costco lemon chicken impress us, or is it better left in the freezer aisle? This is located in the freezer section of Costco near the Hanwoomul Shrimp Fried Rice and the Kirkland Signature Tempura Shrimp. The item number is 1890019.
Taste
I’ve enjoyed other Siwin products from Costco, especially the Siwin Chicken and Vegetable Potstickers so I was looking forward to trying this. The Siwin Lemon Chicken is actually quite tasty even without the sauce. The breaded chicken is nicely crisp, and the quality of the chicken seems good, although I found the breading to be a little on the heavy side.
The lemon sauce has a sweet, very lemony flavor with a slightly artificial taste. It does add plenty of lemon flavor and helps balance out some of the saltiness of the chicken, but it also makes the breading softer and less crispy.
If you love lemon, you’ll probably enjoy the sauce, although I almost preferred the Costco lemon chicken without it! Overall, I enjoyed the combination of flavors and thought the chicken itself was good quality.
Cost
The 1.5-kilogram box contains two bags of breaded chicken and two large pouches of sauce and costs $18.99 Canadian. I think a family of four could easily get two dinners out of one box if you serve the chicken with some sides, so overall, I think the price is quite reasonable.
Convenience
The Siwin Lemon Chicken needs to be kept frozen, and the best before date was about a year and four months from when we purchased it. The bags of chicken and sauce aren’t resealable once opened, so you’ll need to use the contents or transfer them to another container. There are three ways to cook the lemon chicken listed on the box: air frying, baking in the oven or deep frying.
I baked ours in the oven and was pleasantly surprised by how golden and crispy the chicken became. It had a really nice crunch to it! I recommend serving the Costco lemon chicken with rice or noodles and some steamed broccoli for an easy meal.

Seven pieces of the breaded chicken, without sauce, contain 320 calories, 21 grams of fat, 19 grams of carbohydrates, five grams of fibre, one gram of sugar, 14 grams of protein and 530 milligrams of sodium.
Three tablespoons of the lemon sauce add another 70 calories, 17 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, 13 grams of sugar, less than one gram of protein and 250 milligrams of sodium. The sauce adds quite a bit of sugar and sodium, so keep that in mind if you’re watching either. The chicken itself has a decent amount of protein, but the sodium is fairly high.
Ingredients
I like that the first ingredient is chicken and the sauce contains natural lemon flavor but I don’t love seeing soy and corn protein or canola oil listed. I’d prefer just straight chicken for protein. The lemon chicken contains wheat and soy so it’s not gluten-free but is dairy-free.

This Siwin Lemon Chicken from Costco is salty, sweet, crispy and really enjoyable. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again! If you already know you like lemon chicken, I think you’ll definitely enjoy this Costco version. The crispy breaded chicken and sweet, lemony sauce make for an easy and satisfying meal.
