I only started buying kefir in the last couple of years for my husband’s protein shakes because we’ve heard that it’s good for gut health. I usually buy the President’s Choice kefir from Superstore and had never purchased kefir at Costco before, so I was curious to try the Good Moood Farm Kefir. Taste
I really enjoyed the Good Moood Farm Kefir from Costco and would give it a 7.5/10 on taste if I were rating it on its own. Compared to the President’s Choice kefir I usually buy, this kefir is thicker, richer and has a creamier texture. When drinking it on its own, I found it to be a little sweeter and more tangy, which makes the flavor quite noticeable.
However, I actually preferred it in a protein shake, where it blends into a smoother, less tangy drink than the President’s Choice kefir. My husband and I both found it quite tasty and more enjoyable in our protein shakes!
Cost
The two-litre jug of Good Moood Farm Kefir costs $6.99 Canadian at Costco, which is significantly cheaper than the kefir I usually buy, which costs $4.79 for one litre. At just $3.50 per litre, the Costco kefir is a great value compared to the $4.79 per litre I normally pay. I’ll definitely be purchasing my kefir from Costco again!
Convenience
The kefir needs to be kept refrigerated, and the best-before date is just over a month from when we purchased it. There are so many ways to enjoy kefir! You can drink it straight on its own, add it to smoothies, yogurt bowls or protein shakes, or even pour it over oatmeal or cereal in the morning. It’s a versatile ingredient that’s easy to incorporate into your daily routine.

There’s no added sugar, but milk naturally contains sugar in the form of lactose. I think 6 grams of protein is a pretty good amount for only 120 calories, and the fat content isn’t too high either. Overall, I think the nutrition is quite good for a serving of kefir.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the Good Moood Farm Kefir from Costco tastes, especially compared to some other kefir I’ve tried. It’s also reasonably priced, making it a great option if you’re looking for an affordable kefir at Costco. I’d definitely buy this kefir again and recommend giving it a try if you’re a kefir fan!
