I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love barbecue food and barbecue season. Grilled anything is delicious in my eyes and I use every opportunity I can to have barbecue during the summer. This is a staple in our home and we go through bottle after bottle. I’ve bought the really expensive chef brand barbecue sauce at Costco thinking this BBQ sauce is surely inferior to the expensive ones. Not true!

This barbecue sauce tastes awesome, it has a bold and rich flavor that is not too smoky, not too sweet, not too tart and not too vinegary. It has a slight tang, the perfect amount of sweetness and is nice and thick so it sticks well to any meat. The price of this barbecue sauce does not reflect the taste at all. The best part about this barbecue sauce is the versatility of it. It works really well as a marinade and can also be used as a dipping sauce. It goes well on pork chops, chicken, pulled pork, chicken burgers, veggie burgers, hamburgers. Basically anything you can grill. Also have my vegan/vegetarian friends ever had a sweet potato topped with avocado and barbecue sauce? It’s sooo good!

Two tablespoons is 60 calories, 0 grams of fat, 300mg of sodium and 12 grams of sugar. If you just use two tablespoons I think this is totally fine. However if you use like 12 tablespoons you’re going to have a high sugar and sodium intake. They do have a lot of sugar free barbecue sauce options available now but they are usually more expensive and you have to know that they’re replacing the sugar with something else that may/may not be more harmful to you. Obviously this is not a health food but if you’re like me and just like a small amount of barbecue sauce on your homemade pulled pork then this is totally fine to use.

This is a super convenient product, basically if you keep it in your fridge it lasts for a long time and is a solid staple product to have. It’s one of those products that when you don’t have it, you think “how can I be out of barbecue sauce?”. Basically it goes well on so many things that one bottle is all you need for your grilling needs.

I wanted to talk about this product on my blog because Costco has the best price I have seen for this barbecue sauce. Although available at other stores you cannot get 2 big 940ml bottles for $3.99. The cost is super reasonable and although it seems like a lot of barbecue sauce, trust me you will use it! Even if you yourself don’t love barbecue sauce, if you have guests over they may want it on their burgers, chicken, etc.

Overall we have bought this multiple times and will continue to buy it again. It’s a tasty, standard barbecue sauce which seems to go well with all different kinds of grilling options. Other barbecue sauces I have tried have not been as versatile or delicious due to being too sweet, smoky or tangy.

Nutrition: 4/10 (high in sugar and sodium if you use too much)

Taste: 9/10

Cost: 10/10

Convenience: 10/10

What’s your favorite thing to have with BBQ sauce? Have you tried this sauce, did you like it?
