Today we are talking CHEESE! I absolutely love a good cheese and meat platter, especially if it also has delicious crackers to go along with it. My husband Sean is not a cheese fan. He does not like cheese alone, in sauces, in sandwiches etc. He’s just not a cheese guy so when I saw the Kirkland Signature Cheese Flight at Costco I assumed if we bought it I’d be eating a ton of cheese by myself. Not true! This fun cheese flight from Costco lists the five different kinds of cheese on the back of the package along with the wine and beer pairing for each cheese.

Taste

The Costco Kirkland Signature Cheese Flight comes with five different kinds of cheese. Monteau Alpine a semi soft ripened cheese, Cabot Clothbound cheddar cheese, Spanish Red Wine Soaked firm ripened goat cheese, Il Tartufo Pecorino Toscana which is Italian sheep’s milk firm ripened cheese with truffles and a Tuscan spice rubbed fontina cheese. There’s definitely a wide variety of cheese! The alpine, cheddar and goat cheese are quite mild and don’t have a TON of pungent flavor and would pair well with all kinds of meat, cheese and fruit. Il Tartufo definitely tastes strongly of truffle so if you don’t love the taste of truffle/artificial truffle than you probably won’t like this. The Tuscan spice rubbed fontina cheese is a little spicy and has a touch of heat, it is delicious. My favorite cheese was the cheddar or Tuscan spice rubbed. Sean’s favorite cheese was the Il Tartufo but he also enjoyed the cheddar and the goat cheese. All of the cheese tasted nice and paired well with some charcuterie meats and crackers that were also purchased from Costco. Sean said “I’m surprised how much I enjoyed that” after we finished snacking on it.

Cost

The Costco Kirkland Cheese Flight is not cheap. I paid $29.99 Canadian which was the regular price (not on sale). Cheese is never cheap though! Especially fancy cheese.

Convenience

Rather than guessing and buying a whole bunch of different kinds of cheese to make a charcuterie plate this is a super convenient option to have a variety of cheeses in one package to use for your next party or just snack on yourself at home. The cheese has a best before date that’s about five months from the day we purchased it. The one thing I found very slightly inconvenient is that once you open the package you need to store the cheese In a container or plastic bags as the packaging doesn’t reseal. If you’re hosting a Christmas dinner, brunch, lunch or New Year’s Eve party this would make an amazing snack or appetizer with some meat, fruit and crackers.
