If you’re a fan of thin dark chocolate paired with sweet, fruity fillings, you might want to try the Bouchard Fruit Thins available at Costco. But are they a must have for chocolate lovers? Keep reading to find out!
Location in Store
The Bouchard Fruit Thins are located in the candy/snack section at Costco, near Snappers and the Welch’s Fruit Snacks. The item number is 1869164.
Taste
These thin dark chocolates are definitely sweet and fruity, the strawberry flavor is really strong. The filling is a bit sugary for my liking but if you love strawberry jam/jelly you’ll probably like it.
The dark chocolate is quite nice, not as bitter as other dark chocolates I’ve had and also sweeter than other dark chocolates. The star of the show is definitely strawberry though, I feel like the dark chocolate gets overpowered by it.
Cost
The 600-gram bag costs $16.99 Canadian which isn’t cheap, but you get quite a few individually wrapped strawberry dark chocolates in the bag for that cost. This is also Belgian chocolate which usually is a bit more expensive!
Convenience
Each thin comes individually wrapped and the bag reseals which helps keep the chocolates fresh. The best before date listed on the bag is about 11 months from when I purchased them. These are perfect for a candy dish and I actually brought my bag to work to put in my office candy dish!
Nutrition
Calories
Four strawberry dark chocolate fruit thins contain 190 calories, 11 grams of fat, 21 grams of carbohydrates, three grams of fibre, 17 grams of sugar, two grams of protein and 15 milligrams of sodium. One is enough for me so that’s less than 50 calories for a sweet treat!
Ingredients
It’s nice to see there’s strawberry juice concentrate as well as strawberry puree and apple puree instead of a bunch of artificial flavors. I don’t love that there’s fructose syrup but it’s a common ingredient in fruit filled chocolates. The thins don’t have any gluten or dairy listed in the ingredients but may contain tree nuts, peanuts, soy, wheat and milk.

I tried these in the warehouse. they’re not as sweet as the After 8 strawberry thins, but the color is a little off putting. I have to say, it does have that tang expected from a natural strawberry. It’s a little pricey though
Hi Natalie thanks again for another review.. I was in my local costco yesterday and I seen these but I didn’t buy them but it’s nice to know what they are like but I did buy the Connie’s chicken burgers that you reviewed recently, I didn’t try then yet but I froze them . I’m looking forward to having them soon.
Thanks again for another review.
