Costco is a one-stop shop for Christmas chocolates, with so many different boxes to choose from that it can be hard to know which ones to pick. I’ve reviewed seasonal chocolates from Costco for many years, but this is the first time I’ve seen these Corné Port-Royal chocolates, so I picked up a box to try. Find out if I recommend them in my full review below!

Location in Store
These chocolates are located in the seasonal/Christmas aisle at Costco, near the Henry Lambertz Sweet Temptations and the Jules De Stroper Belgian Butter Biscuits! The item number is 1840829.

Taste
There are eight different kinds of chocolates in the box and I tried them all. Although the flavors are fairly basic, the quality seems very good and I enjoyed every one.

The Caramel Dome Milk tastes sweeter than the dark dome. It’s good, but I think the dark chocolate balances out the sweetness better. The Caramel Dome Dark is quite tasty; the dark chocolate outside is complemented by the saltiness and sweetness of the caramel filling. Caramel Mignon also tastes pretty good. It’s smooth and melts quickly in your mouth. The caramel adds a rich sweetness to the chocolate. Overall, it has a creamy, sweet, rich chocolate flavor, but not a strong caramel flavor.

Caramel Rush has a stronger caramel flavor, almost like butterscotch. It has a nice milk chocolate shell and a slight hint of salt. Escargot is pretty good too. It tastes more like dark chocolate with a hint of salt — rich and delicious, with good dark chocolate flavor. Caramel Eclipse has a milk chocolate shell and a chewier caramel, but the caramel isn’t very flavorful and mostly tastes chocolaty.

Mediant Milk is just a piece of milk chocolate. It’s pretty smooth and seems to be good quality. Mediant Dark is less sweet than Mediant Milk but not bitter. It’s rich and enjoyable.

Cost
There are 28 chocolates in the box, and I paid $18.99 Canadian for it. After trying them, I think the price is pretty reasonable because they seem to be good quality.

Convenience
The best-before date listed on the box is about five months from when we purchased it. The chocolates should be kept in a cool, dry place.

There are several different kinds of chocolates in the box, but many of them are caramel, so if you like caramel chocolates, you’ll probably enjoy these. They would make a great gift or be nice to have out over the holidays for when people stop by.

Nutrition
Calories
Two chocolates contain 140 calories, eight grams of fat, 14 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, 12 grams of sugar, two grams of protein and 25 milligrams of sodium. I think that’s a pretty typical amount of calories, fat and carbohydrates for two chocolates.

Ingredients
The ingredients list is actually shorter than I expected. There aren’t too many artificial flavours or preservatives in the chocolates. They contain milk, soy and almonds, and may contain other tree nuts, peanuts, sesame and wheat.

Give it a try!
These chocolates are really good, and I’d buy them again—especially if I were looking for a gift for someone who loves chocolate caramels.

Why are you using ChatGPT for your costco tasting blog? Cannot in good conscience follow a creator who doesn’t write their own content esp when ChatGPT and Ai are destroying our environment.
Hey! I use chat GPT to check my spelling and grammar ONLY. I do this because I’ve had complaints about missing words or repeating words etc. All the content ideas are mine and mine alone and I also get feedback from my parents, my husband and my in laws about foods. I spend the money that I make working as a Registered Nurse for every single food item you see on the blog and donate all the extra food I don’t use. I’m a working mom of a toddler who does this just in her free time and I do not do sponsored reviews where companies pay me and can tell me what to put in the blog post.
