This Henry Lambertz Sweet Temptations box from Costco promises a delightful assortment of gingerbread, cookies, and confections, all in one long box at a great price. I was eager to indulge in the sweetness, but unfortunately, I found myself disappointed. Read on to find out why.
Location in Store
These are located in the Christmas/seasonal aisle at Costco near the Edward Marc Peanut Brittle Bites, Galerie Au Chocolat Milk Chocolate Cookie Butter Cups and the Maison Bruyere Almond Crisps.
Taste
Honestly, I wouldn’t buy these again. Don’t get me wrong, some of the biscuits are really good but you get way more chocolate covered gingerbread than you do cookies. The gingerbread all tastes the same and it’s kind of like a gingerbread cake covered in different kinds of chocolate.
The gingerbread isn’t bad I just don’t think gingerbread and chocolate go well together. I also don’t enjoy how all the gingerbread tastes the same. The cookies are much tastier and are like butter biscuits and shortbread cookies covered in chocolate.
There are a few almond cookies with almonds and also some wafer cookies that are also pretty good. The quality of the chocolate seems pretty decent and is tasty but you’re mainly getting gingerbread in this box.
Cost
The 1125 gram box costs $19.99 Canadian which seems really cheap for all you get in the box but after trying the cookies/gingerbread I wouldn’t pay this again.
Convenience
There are three wrapped trays in the box, two trays of gingerbreads and one tray of cookies/confectionaries I wish there was two trays of cookies and confectionaries and one tray of gingerbread. The gingerbreads all taste the same and I feel like people will tire of them quickly.
The best before date is about eight months from when I purchased the box. Each tray in the box comes wrapped in plastic.
Nutrition
Calories
Three cookies contains 140 calories, six grams of fat, 19 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, 12 grams of sugar, two grams of protein and 40 milligrams of sodium. That’s not bad for three cookies but keep in mind the cookies are small.
Ingredients
The ingredients list has all the unhealthy ingredients you hate to see like glucose syrup, dextrose, glucose fructose syrup, humectants, “flavour” and canola oil. The cookies and gingerbreads contain wheat, egg, soy, hazelnuts, almonds and pistachios and may contain walnuts, cashews, peanuts and sesame.

Overall
Walk on by!
If this had more of the cookies and confectionaries I’d score it higher and possibly recommend it. I don’t love the gingerbread and there’s way more gingerbread in the box than the other things.
