Costco Savanna Orchards Buffalo Ranch Pretzel Nut Mix Review

The Savanna Orchards brand has released some pretty irresistible snack options at Costco, including the Savanna Orchards Country Club Nut Mix and the Savanna Orchards Gourmet Honey Roasted Nuts. I’m not usually a big fan of buffalo flavored snacks or foods, but when I saw that this Savanna Orchards Buffalo Ranch Pretzel & Nut Mix also had a ranch flavor, I decided to give it a try. Read my review below to find out what I thought!

Location in Store

This mix is located in the snack section of Costco, near the Kirkland Signature Premium Whole Mixed Nuts and the Kirkland Signature Grass-Fed Beef Sticks. The item number is 1982896.

Taste

This mix includes almonds, pretzels, and cashews, a simple but enjoyable combination. The pretzels are very crunchy and have the most seasoning. The almonds and cashews taste fresh and are less seasoned than the pretzels, but still flavorful.

Overall, the mix is not as spicy or hot as you might expect. I’m quite sensitive to spice and found the heat level to be just right. It’s quite addictive! As for the flavor, you can clearly taste the ranch and buffalo, along with a hint of dill pickle seasoning.

Cost

The 907-gram bag costs $19.99 Canadian, which isn’t cheap. However, the higher price is likely due to there being almonds and cashews in the mix.

Convenience

This is the perfect snack mix to serve at a party or enjoy on the deck during the summer with a cold drink! The bag reseals which helps maintain freshness and the best before date is about 10 months from when I purchased it.

A half-cup serving contains 270 calories, 20 grams of fat, 2 grams of fibre, 2 grams of sugar, 6 grams of protein, and 330 milligrams of sodium. That’s a lot of calories and fat for just half a cup!

The ingredients list is quite long and includes several less healthy items, such as palm oil, canola oil, corn syrup, and various preservatives and additives. The Pretzel Nut Mix contains cashews, almonds, milk, wheat, and barley. It may also contain peanuts, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pistachios, and walnuts.

Overall

Give it a try!

I really like this mix. I enjoy the combination of heat from the buffalo seasoning, the cooling ranch flavor, and the tangy dill pickle.
