When it comes to protein bars at Costco, the options are endless. Getting plenty of protein in your diet is very popular right now, and protein bars offer a convenient, sweet treat packed with protein. I’ve reviewed many protein bars from Costco, with RXBars being my favorite so far, but I decided to try these new No Sugar Company Perfect Protein + Fibre Bars. Read on to find out if they’re my new favorite!

Location in Store
These are located in the snack section of Costco, at the front of the store near the Kirkland Signature Chewy Protein Bars and the Simply Protein Bars. The item number is 4160101.
Taste
I feel like these bars look better than they taste. The flavour is definitely peanut butter–forward, but they’re not very sweet, and the peanut butter is more subtle than you might expect. Overall, both the peanut butter and jam flavours are quite muted and mild.

The bars have a chalky taste that lingers in your mouth for a while after swallowing. I find the chalkiness more pronounced in these bars than in other protein bars I’ve tried. The texture is soft and chewy, with some crunchy bits.

The strawberry jam inside the bar tastes quite artificial and kind of reminds me of the flavor of Swedish Berries candy. The jam isn’t very sweet or particularly flavorful. These aren’t terrible, but they’re not my favorite protein bar, and I wouldn’t buy them again.

Cost
The 770-gram box contains 14 55-gram protein bars and costs $19.99 Canadian, which means each bar costs just over $2. Single protein bars at the grocery store or a convenience store are usually three dollars or more, so buying a box like this definitely saves you money.

Convenience
Each bar is individually wrapped, and the best-before date is about a year and three months from when I purchased the bars. Since they’re packaged individually, you can easily pop one into your purse, backpack, gym bag, or glove box. They’re a super convenient, quick, and easy way to get a big hit of protein and fibre that should leave you feeling satisfied.

Nutrition
Calories
One 55-gram bar contains 190 calories, six grams of fat, 20 grams of carbohydrates, 10 grams of fibre, zero grams of sugar, five grams of sugar alcohols, 20 grams of protein, and 170 milligrams of sodium.
These nutrition facts are fairly standard for a protein bar, and many other brands have similar profiles. There’s a lot of fibre in each bar, so keep that in mind if you have a sensitive stomach!

Ingredients
The protein in these bars is a mix of collagen, casein, milk protein, whey protein, and soy protein. Protein bars like this are highly processed and contain many additives and ingredients such as palm oil, polydextrose, and carrageenan. I try not to eat them often.
These bars contain milk, peanuts, and soy, and may also contain eggs, sesame, tree nuts, and wheat.

I love the combination of peanut butter and jam so I had high hopes for these bars but I prefer the Built Puff Protein Bars or RXBars over these.
