Baskin-Robbins was one of my favorite places to get ice cream when I was growing up, but these days there’s only one location left in my city, tucked away in a shopping mall, so I haven’t visited in years. When I spotted these Baskin-Robbins Caramel Ribbon Ice Cream Sandwiches at Costco, I couldn’t resist picking up a box. I was hoping they would capture the same rich, nostalgic flavor I remember from my childhood. Read on to find out whether these Costco ice cream sandwiches lived up to my expectations!

These are located in the freezer aisle at Costco near the Jonny Pops Organic Rainbow Fruit Stacks and the Melona Frozen Dessert Bars. The item number is 2005918.
Taste
The Baskin-Robbins Caramel Ribbon Ice Cream Sandwiches are very similar to a classic ice cream sandwich, but with a ribbon of caramel running through the center. They feature the traditional soft chocolate cookies on the outside, a thick layer of vanilla ice cream in the middle, and a relatively thin layer of caramel.
Although there doesn’t appear to be a lot of caramel, there’s enough to add a noticeable caramel flavor that pairs well with the chocolate cookies and vanilla ice cream. The combination of chocolate, vanilla, and caramel is sweet and satisfying, although the ice cream itself is good rather than exceptional.
My biggest complaint is how messy these Costco ice cream sandwiches are to eat. The soft chocolate cookies melt quickly and stick to your fingers, so you’ll definitely want a few napkins nearby.
Cost
The box contains 10 individually wrapped 125-milliliter ice cream sandwiches and costs $18.99 Canadian, which works out to about $1.90 per sandwich. That’s a reasonable price, but they’re definitely more expensive than many other frozen ice cream treats available at Costco.
Convenience
The ice cream sandwiches need to be kept frozen, and the best-before date was just under 10 months from the date I purchased them. The box contains 10 generously sized ice cream sandwiches, each individually wrapped for convenience.
The individual packaging makes them easy to serve at parties, barbecues, or potlucks, and I have no doubt they’ll be a hit with kids. One thing I want to mention is how messy the sandwiches are, the soft cookies stick to your fingers.
