Costco Chocxo Coconut Caramel Cookie Cups Review

If you’re craving chocolate with a little less sugar, these Chocxo Coconut Caramel Cookie Cups might be the perfect option. With just five grams of sugar and mostly organic ingredients, they seem like a healthier chocolate choice. While the low sugar content per cup looks promising, the real question is: do they taste as good as they sound?

Location in Store

These are located in the snack section at Costco, at the front of the store near the Kirkland Signature Grass-Fed Beef Sticks and the Kirkland Signature Peanut Butter Pretzels. The item number is 1886895.

Taste

I usually really enjoy Chocxo chocolate cups, but I didn’t like these as much as I hoped. I can’t really taste a distinct coconut flavor, and I don’t taste caramel either. There’s a bit of texture from the shredded coconut, but despite there definitely being coconut in these chocolates, I can’t really taste much of it.

The chocolate is dark and tastes nice, and there are cookie crumbs on top. The filling is definitely what I don’t like about this product. It has a very odd flavor and doesn’t taste like what it’s supposed to.

Cost

The 450-gram bag costs $15.99 CAD, which is a similar price to other chocolates at Costco. There are about 32 chocolate cups in the bag.

Convenience

Each dark chocolate coconut caramel cookie is individually wrapped, making them easy to share or toss into your lunch, purse, or backpack! The best-before date on the bag is about seven months from when I purchased the chocolates. Chocxo products are made using 100% sustainable cocoa.

Nutrition

Calories

One chocolate cup contains 80 calories, 6 grams of fat, 7 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of fiber, 5 grams of sugar, 1 gram of protein, and 10 milligrams of sodium. I love that these are low in sugar but still taste sweet and don’t have a lot of carbohydrates.

Ingredients

Most of the ingredients listed are organic, with a few that aren’t. Just because they’re organic doesn’t mean they’re automatically healthy! The chocolate cups contain milk and soy but are gluten-free. They may also contain peanuts and tree nuts.

Walk on by!

These aren’t my favorite Chocxo product, I think other chocolates they’ve introduced before taste much better!
