With so many chocolate options at Costco, it can be tough to decide which ones are worth trying. I recently discovered the Edward Marc Chocolatier Coconut Almonds and they’re a must-add to your grocery list! Keep reading to find out why I’m hooked
Location in Store
You can find these in the snack section at Costco, near the front of the store and by the Kirkland Signature S’mores and the Snapper’s. The item number is 1865147.
Taste
These are absolutely delicious and I’m so glad I bought a bag to try. They’re an almond inside a layer of coconut that’s coated in dark chocolate. The dark chocolate doesn’t really taste like dark chocolate to me, it tastes more like milk chocolate as it’s quite sweet.
The coconut under the layer of dark chocolate is sweet and noticeably coconut in a good way. Then there’s a whole almond in the center of the chocolate that’s nice and crunchy and fresh tasting.
The chocolate on the outside is very smooth and creamy and tastes like high quality chocolate. These are definitely addictive!
Cost
The 907 gram bag costs $19.99 Canadian at Costco which isn’t cheap but almonds themselves aren’t cheap and this is a pretty big bag of chocolate covered almonds!
Convenience
The bag reseals which will help keep the chocolates fresh, the best before date on the bag is about a year from when I purchased them. These are perfect to bring to work to share with coworkers or just to enjoy at home! I don’t recommend them for very young children as they’re a choking hazard.
Nutrition
Calories
10 coconut almonds contain 220 calories, 14 grams of fat, 22 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, 20 grams of sugar, three grams of protein and 45 milligrams of sodium. I only need about three of these to feel content and satisfied!
Ingredients
The ingredients list is pretty typical for any store-bought chocolate treat. There’s sugar, palm kernel oil and natural flavour which I don’t love to see but also isn’t surprising. The coconut almonds contain milk, soy and tree nuts and may contain peanuts, other tree nuts, wheat, egg and sesame.
