While on vacation in Maui, I couldn’t resist picking up a few sweet treats from the Costco bakery. I was especially curious about these Kirkland Signature Twice Baked Chocolate Filled Croissants. They looked absolutely decadent, and since Costco is known for having pretty decent croissants, I picked up a package to try. Find out if they were as delicious as they looked by reading the review below!

Location in Store
These are located in the bakery section of Costco near the Kirkland Signature Rustic Italian Loaf and the Kirkland Signature Artisan Pita Bread. The item number is 2024223.

Taste
Between the filling and the crumble on top, the croissants are very chocolatey! The filling is soft, almost like icing. The crumble on top is slightly crisp. The croissants themselves are buttery and tasty, but fairly plain.

The chocolate flavor definitely dominates, which is a good thing. I find a lot of chocolate croissants at bakeries are too light on chocolate for me, but that’s definitely not an issue here. The combination of textures between the croissant, filling and crumble is also enjoyable.

Cost
There are six Twice Baked Chocolate Croissants in the package, which costs $9.99 USD. In my opinion, that’s a reasonable price. Buying a croissant from a local bakery in Maui can cost around five to seven dollars each. Of course, nothing beats a fresh croissant from a local bakery, but buying items like this is one way to save money while still enjoying a sweet treat.

Convenience
The croissants have a best-before date that’s about three days from when I purchased them. If you aren’t going to eat them before they expire, I’m sure you could freeze them. These would be great served with a cup of coffee or tea for breakfast or brunch!
