Costco Violanta Oat Sandwich Cookies Review

I couldn’t resist picking up these Violanta Oat Sandwich Cookies with a creamy Greek yogurt filling from Costco. They’re a product of Greece, and since I love both cookies and Greek yogurt, I figured they were worth a try. I’m so glad I gave them a shot, read on to find out why I love them!

Location in Store

These are located in the bakery section of Costco, near the Nonni’s Biscotti Bites and the Aussie Bites. The item number is 1952681.

Taste

These cookies are simple but really delicious! They remind me a bit of vanilla sandwich Girl Guide Cookies. The texture is crispy and crunchy at first, but then they kind of melt in your mouth.

You definitely notice the flavor of the oats in the cookie, which combines nicely with the Greek yogurt filling. There’s lots of filling in these cookies! The filling is sweet, creamy, vanilla-flavored, and also has a bit of tang from the yogurt.

Cost

The 540 gram box costs $9.99 Canadian which seems really reasonable to me after trying the cookies. There are 18 cookies in the box and the cookies are medium-sized, they’re definitely not small.

Convenience

There are three 180-gram packs of cookies in the box, and each pack contains six cookies. Once opened, the packs don’t reseal, so I stored my open pack in a Ziplock bag. These are the perfect cookies to enjoy in the morning or afternoon as a snack with tea or coffee. They also make a nice dessert after dinner.

Nutrition

Calories

One cookie contains 170 calories, 11 grams of fat, 15 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, four grams of sugar, two grams of protein, and 190 milligrams of sodium. That seems like a lot for one cookie, and it is, but the cookies definitely aren’t small. I really love how little sugar these cookies contain!

Ingredients

The ingredients list isn’t very long, and despite the cookies containing Greek yogurt, they also include a few less healthy ingredients, such as palm oil, sunflower oil, and sugar. The cookies contain milk, oats, and wheat, and may contain eggs, soy, mustard, sesame, lupin, sulphites, peanuts, and tree nuts.

Give it a try!

I think these cookies are simple but oh so delicious! The tang from the Greek yogurt filling is really unique in a cookie. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy these again.
