Costco Stockmeyer Rotating Music Tin with Caramel Filled Butter Biscuits Review

If you’re looking for a cute gift idea from Costco for neighbors or teachers, I recommend the Stockmeyer Rotating Music Tin with Caramel-Filled Butter Biscuits! It’s like a little music box filled with melt-in-your-mouth butter cookies with a sweet, slightly tangy caramel center. The cookies are simple but sure to please, and the tin can be reused for years to come.

Location in Store

I found this tin of cookies in the seasonal/Christmas aisle at Costco, near the Kirkland Signature European Cookies and the Kelsen Danish Butter Cookies. The item number is 1339421.

Taste

These are very simple but delicious cookies! They’re butter cookies filled with soft caramel. The cookies themselves are dry and soft, yet crisp and a little crumbly. They taste like sweet shortbread, and they melt in your mouth.

The caramel filling is slightly tangy and chewy, and not too sweet. Its flavor reminds me of the caramel in the Le Bon Patisserie Stroopwafels from Costco. Although these cookies aren’t extravagant, I think their delicious simplicity will appeal to many!

Cost

There are only 12 cookies in the tin, and it costs $13.99. That’s not a lot of cookies, so I think you’re definitely paying mostly for the tin. Although there aren’t many cookies, I still think the price is reasonable and that it makes a nice gift.

Convenience

The cookies come in sleeves of four, and you can easily cut the sleeves apart to create individually packaged cookies. The cookies are a product of France and the best-before date is five months from when I purchased the tin.

This is a wind-up musical tin that plays the song “Let it snow” when you turn the key on the bottom. As the song plays, wintry images like pictures of a bakery and other festive scenes—spin around the outside. It’s very cute! I think this would make a lovely gift for neighbors or a teacher.

Nutrition

Calories

Two cookies contain 120 calories, five grams of fat, 16 grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fibre, seven grams of sugar, one gram of protein, and 80 milligrams of sodium. That’s not a lot of calories, sugar, or fat for two cookies.

Ingredients

I wish the ingredients list were a bit simpler and didn’t include artificial flavors or additives like sodium citrate and ammonium carbonate. I also don’t love seeing glucose-fructose syrup used as part of the sugars. The cookies contain egg, milk, and wheat, and may contain tree nuts, mustard, and soy.
