Costco Nutty Fruity Dubai Style Chocolates Review

Honestly, I’m starting to get a bit tired of Dubai-style chocolates, so this may very well be my last review of these pistachio-filled treats that everyone seems to be going crazy for! I spotted these Nutty Fruity Dubai Style Chocolates both in Hawaii and at my local Costco in Canada, so I decided to pick up a bag to try and review. Find out how they compare to the other Dubai-style chocolates I’ve reviewed from Costco by reading the review below!

Location in Store

These Dubai style chocolates are located in the snack section of Costco, near the Innofoods White Chocolate Blueberry Clusters and the Unreal Dark Chocolate Coconut Minis. The item number is 1937049.

Taste

I’ve tried the Chocovia Dubai Style Chocolates and the Bouchard Dubai Chocolates and enjoyed both. The chocolates have a fairly thick chocolate shell, so the chocolate flavor is more noticeable than the pistachio filling. The chocolate itself tastes like good-quality milk chocolate.

These chocolates are quite sweet overall and sweeter than some of the other Dubai-style chocolates I’ve tried. The filling has a nice amount of crunch, which adds an enjoyable texture. While I could taste the pistachio, the flavor was fairly mild and not as prominent as I expected. Compared to other Dubai-style chocolates I’ve had, these are more chocolate-forward, less pistachio-focused, and sweeter than they are rich.

Cost

The 454-gram bag of individually wrapped chocolates costs $21.99 Canadian, which seems a bit expensive to me. However, when compared to some of the other Dubai-style chocolates sold at Costco, the price is fairly similar. The chocolates themselves are also quite large, which helps justify the cost somewhat.

Convenience

Each chocolate is individually wrapped, and the best-before date is almost a year from the date of purchase. Because they’re individually wrapped, they would make a nice gift or be easy to share with friends and family. They’re also great to keep at home for when you’re in the mood for a sweet chocolate treat.

Nutrition

Calories

One chocolate contains 150 calories, 12 grams of fat, 15 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, 13 grams of sugar, two grams of protein, and 30 milligrams of sodium. They’re definitely high in calories, fat, and sugar for a single chocolate, but they’re also quite large, so the nutrition facts aren’t too surprising.

Ingredients

The ingredients list is fairly typical for a store-bought chocolate. It’s not overly long, and I appreciate that the chocolates contain roasted pistachios and natural vanilla flavor. The chocolates contain milk, pistachios, sesame, soy, and wheat, and may also contain other tree nuts, peanuts, and egg.
