Costco Bouchard Dubai Chocolates Review

I previously reviewed the Chocovia Dubai Style Chocolates from Costco and really enjoyed them, so when I spotted the Bouchard Dubai Chocolates, I couldn’t resist picking up a box to try. I was curious to see if they were any different and if I’d like them just as much. Keep reading my review below to find out!

Location in Store

The Bouchard Dubai Chocolates weren’t located near the Chocovia Dubai Style Chocolates in the snack section. Instead, I found them in the seasonal aisle alongside other Christmas chocolates, such as Moritz Icy Squares and Kirkland Signature Belgian Luxury Chocolates. The item number is 1888380.

Taste

These taste a bit different than the Chocovia Dubai Style Chocolates. They have a hard chocolate shell and the pistachio filling is quite crisp. Although, there’s pistachios on top you don’t really notice the texture of them. The crispness in the chocolates is definitely coming from the knafeh.

Something I find a bit odd is that the filling in these Bouchard chocolates tastes a lot like almond extract rather than pistachio. However, almond is not listed in the ingredients.

These Bouchard chocolates are sweeter than the Chocovia and not as rich in flavor. Both the Chocovia and the Bouchard Dubai chocolates have a crisp texture, but the Bouchard chocolates are noticeably crispier.

I prefer the Chocovia Dubai Style Chocolates, but I still really enjoy the Bouchard ones—they’re both delicious!

Cost

The 454-gram box costs $21.99 Canadian at Costco, which is two dollars more than the Chocovia Dubai Chocolates, and it contains 41 chocolates.

Convenience

The box comes wrapped in plastic, but the chocolates aren’t individually wrapped, so once it’s opened, all of them are unsealed. The best-before date on the box is about seven months from the purchase date.

I personally prefer chocolates that are individually wrapped since we don’t eat them regularly, usually just on weekends! I recommend storing these in a cool, dry place. They make a perfect afternoon sweet treat or an after-dinner delight.

Nutrition

Calories

Four chocolates contain 250 calories, 16 grams of fat, 23 grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fibre, 19 grams of sugar, three grams of protein, and 65 milligrams of sodium. That’s not as much sugar as I expected for four chocolates! Although the calories and fat seem high, most people will likely have one or two chocolates as a serving.

Ingredients

The ingredient list isn’t very long, but it does include a few things I’m not fond of, such as palm fat and flavoring. On the positive side, I like that they use real vanilla extract instead of artificial vanilla flavor. The chocolates contain milk, pistachios, and wheat, and may also contain other tree nuts, peanuts, soy, and egg.

Overall

Must buy!

These are super tasty and I’ll definitely finish my box. I do prefer the Chocovia version though!
