I find chicken wings can be hit or miss. Some are tender and meaty, while others are full of fat and gristle. We don’t have these Kirkland Signature Fully Cooked Crispy Wings at our Costco stores in Canada, so when I spotted them in Maui, I picked up a bag to give them a try. They’re gluten-free and come with a classic buffalo sauce that you can use for dipping or tossing the wings in. Find out whether these wings were a hit or a miss by reading the review below!

Location in Store
These are located in the freezer section at Costco near the Raybern’s Philly Cheesesteak and the Motor City Pizza Co. Frozen Pizza. The item number is 1956136.
Taste
I’ve tried quite a few chicken wings from Costco, including the Kirkland Signature Seasoned Chicken Wings, Pinty’s Crispy Chicken Wings, and Olympic Craft Meats Southern Crunch Chicken Wings, and I’ll start by saying these aren’t my favorite wings I’ve tried.

They’re very salty, greasy, and fatty, with lots of gristle and very little quality meat. The skin is also quite thick. I know this is how a lot of chicken wings are, but it’s not the style I enjoy.

The wings themselves are quite large, so there’s technically a lot of meat, but not much of it is quality, edible meat. The buffalo sauce is your standard buffalo sauce with a nice kick of heat, but it isn’t enough to make up for the wings themselves.

Cost
The four-pound bag of frozen chicken wings costs $14.99 USD, which seems like a pretty reasonable price for such a large bag. However, after trying them, I was disappointed and didn’t even want to finish the bag, which made it feel like a waste of money.

Convenience
The wings need to be kept frozen and have a best-before date that’s about 11 months from when we purchased them. Since they’re fully cooked, all you need to do is heat them up. The bag includes heating instructions for an air fryer, conventional oven, and microwave. I baked mine in the oven, and the outside became nicely crispy.

The bag comes with packets of buffalo sauce that you can use for dipping or coating the wings. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of spicy foods, so I’d rather dip them in barbecue sauce. These wings work well as an appetizer or side dish.
Nutrition
Calories
An 84-gram serving of the edible portion of the wings contains 150 calories, seven grams of fat, 870 milligrams of sodium, three grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fibre or sugar, and 17 grams of protein. That’s a decent amount of protein, and the wings are relatively low in carbohydrates, but they’re quite high in sodium.

Two tablespoons of the buffalo sauce contain 30 calories, zero grams of fat, 990 milligrams of sodium, six grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fibre, four grams of sugar, and zero grams of protein. That’s an incredible amount of sodium for just two tablespoons!
Ingredients
The ingredients list is fairly short, with chicken and seasonings as the main ingredients. The buffalo sauce is primarily made with vinegar, sugar, cayenne pepper, and Anaheim pepper purée. The wings are gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free.

Overall
Walk on by!
I much prefer the Kirkland Signature Seasoned Chicken Wings from Costco’s pre-made meal section. My biggest complaint about these wings is how greasy they are, along with the amount of fat and gristle they contain.
Yes they are as well as dairy-free.
They’re a product of the USA.
I didn’t count but there’s quite a few and three sauce packets!
