If you love savory croissants, you may be tempted to try these Ace Bakery Mini Cheese Croissants from Costco. Their small size makes them perfect for enjoying on their own, or they can easily be turned into a delicious croissant sandwich. I tried them myself, and while they’re tasty, there was one reason I wasn’t completely sold, read on to find out what it was!

Location in Store
These are located in the bakery section of Costco, near the Kirkland Signature Variety Dessert Bars and the Kirkland Signature Ginger Cookies. The item number is 1891948.
Taste
I tried these croissants both heated and unheated. The packaging recommends warming them for the best results, and I agree — they taste much better after spending a few minutes in the oven.

They have that signature croissant flavor that’s slightly sweet and buttery, with a subtle hint of cheese. They’re a bit sweeter than I’d prefer, and I feel like the sweetness doesn’t pair perfectly with the cheese flavor.
The texture is soft and fluffy with a touch of flakiness, which becomes more pronounced after heating. The cheese flavor seems to be mostly on the outside.

They’re not overly cheesy, and the flavor isn’t strong or sharp — just a mild cheddar taste, similar to a cheese bun. Overall, they’re pretty tasty, but not quite as good as bakery croissants.
Cost
There are 20 croissants in the container, which costs $9.99 Canadian at Costco. That’s a pretty reasonable price in my opinion — it works out to about 50 cents per croissant.
Convenience
The best-before date is a week from when I purchased these, but I’ve seen online that they can go bad sooner than that. They freeze well right in the container if you’re not going to finish them right away. These croissants are great on their own but also pair nicely with a dip like spinach dip or can be used to make small sandwiches.

Nutrition
Calories
Two croissants contain 200 calories, 10 grams of fat, 22 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, three grams of sugar, six grams of protein, and 300 milligrams of sodium. That works out to 100 calories and five grams of fat per croissant, which doesn’t seem too bad.

Ingredients
The ingredients list includes butter and real cheddar cheese, which I appreciate, but there are also some less-than-ideal ingredients. I don’t love seeing preservatives, additives, and natural flavors listed. The croissants contain wheat, milk, eggs, and barley, and may contain sesame and soy.

Overall
Give it a try!
I thought my toddler would love these, but she didn’t. I still think they’re tasty enough though, especially when warmed up.
