During the summer months, I like to keep our freezer stocked with frozen treats from Costco, including Melona Frozen Dessert Bars, Yasso Greek Yogurt Bars and Jonny Pops. I didn’t have any classic ice cream sandwiches in the freezer, so when I spotted these Chipwich Original Vanilla Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwiches at Costco, I picked up a box to try. These are a nostalgic frozen treat featuring vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two soft chocolate chip cookies and rolled in mini chocolate chips. Find out what I thought of these Costco ice cream sandwiches and whether I’d buy them again next summer by reading my review below!

Location in Store
These ice cream sandwiches are in the freezer aisle at Costco near the Tru Fru Chocolate Covered Strawberries and the Poppies Profiteroles. The item number is 1892105.
Taste
These Chipwich Original Vanilla Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwiches remind me of a Chips Ahoy ice cream sandwich, although the chocolate chip cookies are soft rather than crispy. The ice cream in the middle has a pleasant vanilla flavor, while most of the chocolate flavor comes from the mini chocolate chips around the outside of the sandwich.

The chocolate chips add a nice crunch, and there are also a few chocolate chips baked into the cookies. Both the cookies and vanilla ice cream are quite sweet, but I didn’t find them overly sweet or off-putting. I enjoyed these Costco ice cream sandwiches more than I expected to. If you’re a fan of chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream, I think these are definitely worth picking up!
Cost
The box contains 10 ice cream sandwiches and costs $16.99 Canadian, which works out to about $1.70 per sandwich. That’s not exactly cheap, but I think it’s a reasonable price for a fun frozen treat from Costco.

Convenience
Each ice cream sandwich is individually wrapped, making them easy to grab when you’re craving a sweet, cool treat or share with family and friends. They should be kept frozen, and the best-before date is about 14 months from the date I purchased them. These Costco ice cream sandwiches are a fun summer treat that both kids and adults can enjoy.

Nutrition
Calories
One ice cream sandwich contains 310 calories, 15 grams of fat, 42 grams of carbohydrates, two grams of fibre, 30 grams of sugar, three grams of protein and 130 milligrams of sodium. That’s quite a bit of sugar for one ice cream sandwich, along with a fairly high amount of calories and carbohydrates, so this is definitely more of an occasional sweet treat than a nutritious snack.

Ingredients
The ingredients list seems pretty typical for a store-bought, processed ice cream sandwich. There are a few ingredients I’m not particularly fond of seeing, including palm oil, added flavour and additives such as calcium sulphate. The Chipwich Ice Cream Sandwiches contain wheat, soy, egg and milk.
