Costco carries this popular flavorful and spicy sauce that goes great with chicken!
Today I’m reviewing the Costco Nando’s Peri-Peri Sauce. I’ve seen this sauce at Costco for quite a long time but haven’t tried it until now.
Other sauces I’ve reviewed from Costco that I enjoy are the Johnny’s Black Garlic Vinaigrette, Costco Kewpie Deep Roasted Sesame Dressing & Marinade, Costco Rao’s Marinara Sauce and the Costco Culinary Treasures Chipotle Aioli.
Location in Store
You can find the peri-peri sauce in the aisle with all the other sauces and oils at Costco. The item number is 1064262.
This sauce is hot despite it claiming to be a medium hot sauce! The peri-peri sauce is packed full of flavor and you can taste onion, garlic, paprika and lemon. It’s got a strong spicy, salty flavor with a hint of sour coming through from the lemon.
I like how complex the flavor is but it’s far too spicy for me. If you like hot sauce and can handle heat and spice, I think you’ll like this. If you’re like me and have a low tolerance for anything spicy, you’ll probably find this too hot.
I paid $10.99 Canadian for the one liter bottle of Nando’s Peri-Peri Sauce.
You can use peri-peri sauce on chicken, rice, drizzled on avocado toast or in eggs, on roasted vegetables or even in a sandwich. The best before date listed on the sauce is about 13 months from the date I purchased it, however once opened it needs to be used within three months.
One teaspoon of peri-peri sauce is zero calories, zero grams of fat, 120 mg of sodium zero grams of carbohydrates and less than a gram of protein. If you’re watching your sodium intake you may want to be mindful of how much you consume because a teaspoon isn’t that much!
The sauce is gluten-free and has no artificial colors or flavors. The peri-peri sauce is unique because it uses African Bird’s Eye Chili which is known to be an extremely hot pepper! The ingredients list has typical ingredients for a hot sauce and is short and sweet!
Taste: 7/10 (this depends on whether you like hot sauce or not)
Give it a try!
If you’re looking for a hot sauce that has depth and lots of flavor, try this out!
Have you tried this before? Do you find it too spicy?
