Costco Reese’s Pieces Bark Review

I’ve tried several Reese’s products from Costco, including Reese’s Frozen Banana Slices, Reese’s Popcorn and the Reese’s Exclusive Variety Pack, because my husband is a huge fan of anything Reese’s. So when I spotted this Reese’s Pieces Bark at my local Costco during a recent trip, I picked up a bag for him and decided to review it as well. Find out what we thought of this Reese’s Pieces chocolate bark and whether it’s worth picking up in my review below!

Location in Store

This is located in the snack section near the front of Costco and by the Unreal Chocolate Coconut Minis and the Welch’s Fruit Snacks. The item number is 1897646.

Taste

The Reese’s Pieces Bark tastes a lot like a Hershey’s Kiss with Reese’s Pieces and peanuts mixed in. The chocolate has that distinct Hershey’s Kiss flavor, while the mini Reese’s Pieces and peanut pieces add just a hint of peanut butter flavor.

The main flavor is definitely chocolate, and I personally would have enjoyed a stronger peanut and peanut butter flavor. If you’re looking for a sweet chocolate treat with a subtle Reese’s peanut butter flavor, this Costco Reese’s Pieces Bark is worth trying.

Cost

The 566-gram bag costs $12.99 Canadian, which doesn’t seem unreasonable for such a large bag of chocolate. Keep in mind, though, that I wouldn’t consider this high-quality chocolate or candy.

Convenience

The bag is resealable, which helps keep the Reese’s Pieces Bark fresh, and it should be stored in a cool, dry place to prevent it from melting. The best-before date is about a year from the date I purchased it. This makes a fun sweet snack or dessert, and I think kids would especially enjoy it.

Nutrition

Calories

A 47-gram serving, or 1/12 of the entire bag, contains 230 calories, 14 grams of fat, 27 grams of carbohydrates, two grams of fibre, 24 grams of sugar, four grams of protein and 35 milligrams of sodium. As you’d expect from a chocolate and candy product like this, it’s not low in calories, fat or sugar. It’s definitely more of an indulgent treat than an everyday snack.

Ingredients

The ingredients list is fairly long and contains several ingredients I’m not particularly fond of, including artificial flavours, corn syrup, palm kernel oil, additives, artificial colours and preservatives. This definitely isn’t a healthy or clean snack, but it’s intended to be an indulgent treat rather than a nutritious food. The Reese’s Pieces Bark contains peanuts, milk and soy and may contain tree nuts.

Overall

Give it a try!

This isn’t my favorite chocolate treat to buy from Costco, and even my husband wasn’t a huge fan despite his love of lower-quality chocolate. I think the main issue is that it needs more peanut butter flavor, as the chocolate is quite dominant. If you’re looking for a stronger Reese’s peanut butter taste, this one might disappoint.
