Costco Bibigo Cooked Sticky White Rice Review

Rice is simple to make, but achieving that perfectly fluffy, sticky texture can be tricky. Bibigo’s Cooked Sticky White Rice from Costco promises flawless results in just 90 seconds. As much as I love convenient foods, there’s one major reason I won’t be purchasing this again, read on to find out why.

Location in Store

This is located in the dry-good aisle with the seasonings like the Hys Seasoning Salt, rice ramen and the dry pasta. The item number is 1685578.

Taste

The texture of the rice is very sticky and fluffy! I have zero complaints about the texture of the rice. The flavor is the rice itself is pretty non-existent. It just tastes like plain white rice.

What I don’t like about the rice and why I won’t repurchase it, is the smell. It smells completely like plastic. It’s a strong chemical smell that overpowers the positives about the rice.

Cost

The box comes with 12 bowls that weight 310 grams each, and the box costs $11.99 Canadian which is pretty cheap. It’d be much cheaper to make the same amount of rice yourself, so you’re definitely paying for convenience with this microwaveable rice.

Convenience

This Bibigo sticky rice is the epitome of convenience. It’s heated in the microwave and ready to serve in just 90 seconds. It can be stored at room temperature and the best before date is rougly four months from when I purchased it.

You can serve this rice with any meats, vegetables or even make it a base for stir-fry. It’s plain so you can add any seasonings or sauces that you like, such as soy sauce.
