Costco Edna’s Margarita Mix Review

Margaritas are hands down my favorite cocktail, and I enjoy making them all year long. My go-to has always been the Kirkland Signature Margarita Mix from Costco, but I haven’t been able to find it this year. Instead, I came across Edna’s Margarita Mix and decided to give it a shot. How does it stack up against the Kirkland mix I love so much?

Location in Store

This is located on the side of the store near all the others beverages like the Kirkland Signature Iced Tea and the Kirkland Signature Lemonade. The item number is 1940100.

Taste

My favorite margarita mix is and will always be the Kirkland Signature Margarita Mix but this Edna’s Margarita Mix is pretty good too! It’s very limey and pretty sweet!

If you want to cut down on the sweetness you can add extra ice or extra lime juice. I used my famous margarita recipe with this mix and the margaritas turned out really nice but a tad sweeter than usual!

Cost

The margarita mix comes in a two pack with two one liter bottles. The two pack costs $14.99 Canadian, which is more than the Kirkland Signature Organic Margarita Mix costs. The Kirkland Signature is $11.99 for two 1.75 liter bottles.

Convenience

The best before date on the margarita is about 11 months from when I purchased it. After the opening the mix it needs to be kept refrigerated and the bottle recommends finishing it within 12 days.

I definitely won’t be able to finish my bottle of mix in 12 days. This is great for margaritas but you could also use it in cupcakes, mocktails or to marinade chicken or shrimp.

Nutrition

Calories

In 90 milliliters or three ounces there are 40 calories, zero grams of fat, the bottle says there are 11 milligrams of carbohydrates but I feel like that’s wrong. I bet there’s 11 grams of carbohydrates in 90 milliliters. There are zero grams of fiber, eight grams of sugar and 65 milligrams of sodium in 90 milliliters.

Ingredients

The ingredients like is pretty short and sweet, organic blue agave is the second ingredient which is maybe why it tastes so sweet. Lime juice is the third ingredient. The margarita mix is gluten-free and dairy-free.
