I love trying all the new products Costco’s bakery comes out with, and these Kirkland Signature Sprinkle Shortbread Cookies are new at my local Costco. Although I’m not usually a fan of cookies that don’t contain chocolate, I was drawn to how colorful they are. I also really enjoy the Kirkland Signature Raspberry Crumble Cookies, which have a similar shortbread texture, so I decided to pick these up. Find out if they’re worth buying by reading the review below!

Location in Store
These are located in the bakery section of Costco, near the Kirkland Signature Chocolate Lover’s Cookie Pack and the Kirkland Signature Lemon Poppy Seed Loaf. The item number is 2037723.

Taste
The cookies are pretty good, but I wouldn’t say they taste like a true shortbread cookie. They remind me more of a confetti sugar cookie. They do have a crumbly texture that’s similar to shortbread, but they don’t have the rich, buttery shortbread flavor.

Overall, they taste like sweet birthday cake. They’re enjoyable, but quite sweet, and I think some individuals may find them too sweet. They’re not super soft and tend to crumble apart as you eat them. They’re definitely not my favorite cookie from Costco, and while I didn’t dislike them, I wouldn’t buy them again.

Cost
There are 20 Sprinkle Shortbread Cookies in the package, which costs $6.97 at Costco. I think they were on sale when I bought them, making them a very reasonably priced treat. They’re a simple cookie though, there’s nothing fancy about them.

Convenience
The cookies have a best-by date that’s five days from when they were packed. If you aren’t going to eat them before they go stale, they can easily be frozen right in the container they come in. They’re a fun treat for kids and would also be great to serve at a summer BBQ or potluck, or to take camping.

Nutrition
Calories
One cookie contains 140 calories, eight grams of fat, 18 grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fiber, nine grams of sugar, one gram of protein, and 75 milligrams of sodium. I like that each cookie has less than 10 grams of sugar! Of course, cookies typically aren’t low in calories or fat.
Ingredients
I’m disappointed that the cookies aren’t made with all butter, and I don’t love seeing palm and canola oil in the ingredients list. I’m also not a fan of the added flavoring. The cookies contain milk, eggs, soy, and wheat, and may contain tree nuts, peanuts, and sesame.

Overall
Give it a try!
These aren’t my favorite cookies from Costco. They’re not bad, but they just don’t have that wow factor! I much prefer the Kirkland Signature White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies or the Kirkland Signature Double Nut Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chunk Cookies over these.
20.
Nuts are not directly on the ingredients list but they may contain nuts.
They’re not, they have shortening (palm and canola oil) as well as butter.
