oup dumplings are a type of steamed dumpling filled with a rich, flavorful broth and a tender, seasoned meat filling. I’ve had them before and absolutely fell in love, so when I spotted these Mila Soup Dumplings at Costco, I grabbed a bag without hesitation. At $19.99 Canadian per bag, they aren’t exactly a bargain. But did I end up regretting the purchase? Keep reading to find out.
Location in Store
I found these in the freezer section at Costco near the Bibigo Steamed Dumplings and the Ajinomoto Ramen. The item number is 1903952.
Taste
These soup dumplings are extremely flavorful. They have a nice pork filling with a slight smokiness to it. The soup in it is a bit thick and oily but not in a bad day.
They seem like there’s a fair amount of fat in them, which is probably why they’re so flavorful. The pork in the filling seems like it’s good quality. I didn’t notice any gristle or hard pieces in the filling.
The dumpling wrapper is soft and chewy and the dough is the right thickness. They’re not overly doughy which I like. These have enough flavor on their own so you don’t need to worry about buying sauce for them.
Cost
The 964 gram bag costs $19.99 Canadian. That’s not cheap for a smallish bag of dumplings, at least in my opinion. The 1.36 kilogram bag of the Synear Soup Dumplings at Costco only cost $14.99 Canadian.
Convenience
The dumplings cannot be microwaved. Both cooking methods listed involve using a large pan. I decided to pan fry my dumplings because I like crispy bottoms. They turned out fine using the pan fry method!
The dumplings need to be kept frozen and the best before date is about ten months from when I purchased them. The package recommends serving these with your favorite sauces but I feel like they’re flavorful enough and they don’t need any additional dipping sauce! They’re great on their own.

The ingredients list has everything you’d expect to see in a dumpling. Pork, ginger, sesame oil, soy sauce and rice cooking wine. The wrapped is made of wheat flour so these are not gluten-free. They contain soy, sesame and wheat.
