These Robert Irvine’s Fit Crunch Dipped Brownies look absolutely irresistible in the photo, and the bright, colorful packaging instantly made me want to buy a box. After trying them, I felt a bit misled. While they don’t look much different from the photo, the taste was not what I expected. Read on to find out why.

Location in Store
These are located in the snack section of Costco, near the Built Puff Protein Bars and the Smart for Life Protein Bars. The item number is 7717075.

Taste
These Fit Crunch brownies by Robert Irvine are not good at all, in my opinion. The consistency is not like a brownie; it’s more like a protein bar and there’s really not much that resembles a brownie in these. They have an odd aftertaste, a chalky, unpleasant flavor.

The artificial sweetener aftertaste is quite pronounced and almost tastes metallic. The aftertaste alone is enough to make them unenjoyable. The texture is a little dry, and they’re quite dense and chewy. They definitely give your jaw a workout!

Cost
The box comes with 18 40-gram brownies and costs $24.99 Canadian, which means each bar is under $1.50. The price seems reasonable, until you try one and don’t want to eat another!

Convenience
Each brownie is individually packaged, making it easy to pop one into your lunch box, gym bag, or glove box. The best-before date listed on the box is about 16 months from when I purchased them. The brownies should be stored at room temperature and kept out of heat or direct sunlight, as they could melt!

Nutrition
Calories
One brownie contains 160 calories, seven grams of fat, 15 grams of carbohydrates, four grams of fibre, four grams of sugar, six grams of sugar alcohols, 12 grams of protein, and 190 milligrams of sodium. There are many tastier protein bar options that offer as much or more protein for a similar amount of fat and calories. Such as the RXBar and the Kirkland Signature Protein Bar.

Ingredients
There are a ton of unhealthy ingredients in these brownies, including palm oil, soybean oil, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavoring and coloring, as well as many preservatives and additives. The brownies contain soy, milk, almond, and peanuts, and may contain eggs, wheat, and other tree nuts.

Overall
Walk on by!
These brownies aren’t enjoyable at all, there are so many other protein bars that are tastier and have cleaner ingredients. I wouldn’t buy these again or recommend them.
